The rest of the website

The rest of the website, i decided to go with a basic layout and portfolio site for Synchrony Media Design. the company i am branding is into clean up to date design of all kind, they also offer photography as a service. i went with the same colour scheme for the whole site, its orange blue black and white. the orange is a deep red orange to accent the cyan blue. and the black and white really work for the background and type.
Here is a sample from my site, the pages look clean sophisticated and very modern
i think that the colours really help to add to this feeling. The first page is news and about page, you can see how the colour scheme really helps lead the eye to the navigation and also it really makes the information stand out due to the contrast.

the next page is the home page, this page is going to be dedicated to the Design worlds goings on, up to date news items that are of interest to the design firm. again you can see how the navigation is very clear as to what page you are on etc.
The last page is a example of the portfolio gallery, in the gallery there will be examples of the work, from web to print to the photography. here i have shown what the web page would look like showing the Print Design gallery. and how it would look when a thumb is selected and how the larger image would be displayed.

Website Colour Project

I decided on a great colour scheme and logo for my website. i went with a Cyan, a deep red orange and white. the complementary colours work very well together, and i used Black and white as the accent contrast colours.
the final result is very dynamic in my eyes. it really stands out quite well, as for the rest of the site i decided to carry the colour through the whole site, from the navigation colours to the type.

here is the logo for the site i am working on.

Final Step

The last step in the Vancouver project was taking the the three images, and working them together in photoshop. With the black and white image scanned i painted in more shadows in areas i wanted to darken in the overall image, and i also did the same with the scan of the colour image. i added some colour in areas that i wanted to accent. all three layers came together very well. By adding extra colour fill layers to tint the shadows and deepen the colour contrast i was finished at last.
here are the two final images from the Vancouver colour project.

Step 2 Vancouver colour project

this is step 2 of how i came to my final result with the Vancouver project. i bought the AB transfer markers and i made 4 photocopies of each image, 2 colour and 2 black and white. i also used 4 larger heavier stock paper to transfer the images on to.
with each image i got 2 transfers, one with the colour copy and one with the black and white copy.

With these images transferred, i then scanned them, dropped them into photoshop and went to work.

Vancouver Colour Project

Vancouver Colour Project,

i decided to go with a photographic approach of showing what i saw in Vancouver. i went with the two things that stuck in my head the most, one was the 24 daily newspaper box that i saw on kits beach in the middle of the Field near a huge weeping willow tree. shown below

what made me stop and look was the strong contrast of the Bright orange box with the lighter calmer and even cooler colours of the sky ocean and trees.
my idea is to show how mans colours work with natures colours, but are much more bright.

the other image that i took was this one below of a basketball hoop. what i saw was the same bright contrasting orange on the backboard with pretty much the same colour pallet as the 24 box, meaning, the ocean sky and trees but this time the colour of the court is also a calmer cool blue.

Adiction

I am addicted to the look and effect that can be produced from those Darn markers.
I love the look and feel they create. i finally have an idea for the Vancouver project. this is an example of what i want to do.

The first example:
i like the affect of this gel transfer becuase there is also a texture given from the paper that is left behind. I added some colour to areas to bring more attention to them also played with adding more red in poportion to the Yellow.

The second example is just black and white. I like this affect as well, i find that the texture of the surface you are using also comes through the paper transfer. I plan on using both examples in my Vancouver project.

colour colour colour

Talking about colours and how they are seen and how other colours can effect the real look of another colour has been on my mind. i have been noticing the colours in alot of things and i have found a pretty cool looking photo of colour bars. its red, a cool blue and a warm orange and a warm blue. the colour arrangement makes the the orange look almost yellow. which i find interesting.

I also found another image that is an example of a Discord colours. In this image, the colours vibrate due to the contrast. (FYI the colours don't really look as good in the version that got uploaded to the blog)
